Lazy Dog Cottage Terms & Conditions
Arrival and Departure
You are welcome to arrive at the cottage any time after 3pm. As we do not live on site we would be grateful for a rough idea of your arrival, so that we can be there to greet you. To allow us time to clean and re-stock the cottage, we would be pleased if you could leave by 11am on your day of departure.
Payment and cancellations
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the holiday rental is payable on booking, with the balance due no less than 14 days prior to the arrival date. Non-payment of the balance will be taken to be cancellation by the client. If you need to cancel your booking, please inform us, in writing, to the address below. We will be unable to refund your deposit, but you would be welcome to use it to book an alternative date, subject to availability. Payments can be made electronically by credit and debit card using our secure online booking system. Payments made in this way are operated by Paypal and governed by their stringent privacy and security policy (available to view at their website: www.paypal.com). Alternatively you can pay by cheque payable to Lazy Dog Cottage and posted to S&C Elkins at 8 Park Lane, Heywood, Westbury, Wilts, BA13 4NB. No VAT is charged on the cost of your holiday
In the event that we need to cancel your booking for whatever reason, your payments would be returned in full, but no additional compensation for loss of holiday would be due.
No Smoking
Lazy Dog Cottage is a no-smoking establishment
Guests
The cottage sleeps 2 only in one double bed and there are no sofa-beds, however the cottage is your home for the length of your stay and you are welcome to entertain there as if it were your own home
Children
Unfortunately the cottage is not geared up to accommodate children of any age
Privacy (its all yours)
We do not live on site, so apart from on arrival and departure, you will not be disturbed by us unless you need us. We are available by mobile phone and not far away if you run in to any problems. If we do need to gain access to the property for any reason during your stay, we will organise this at your convenience.
The personal information you give to us in the course of making a booking is used only by ourselves in communicating with you about your holiday and is not passed on to any other party. It is held via our booking system provider Holiday Bookings Online on dedicated servers using a secure connection (see their website www.holiday-bookings-online.com for their security and privacy information
Pets
We are sorry but we are not able to accommodate any pets
Breakages (don’t worry)
We do know that accidents can happen and we won’t be charging for any breakages that happen during normal everyday use, which is not to say that we won’t quibble if you throw the television out of the window. However please let us know if anything does get broken, so that we can replace it for the next guests.
Cleaning (don’t do it)
The last thing that you want to be doing on holiday is housework and we know it, so thorough cleaning of the cottage is included in the cost of your stay
Complaints (don’t have any)
Please let us know if there is anything that you are not happy with, so that we have the chance to put it right as soon as we can. In the event that you had a complaint about any aspect of your stay we would aim to make an initial response within 24 hours, hopefully resolving the issue to your satisfaction.
Trade Descriptions
We make every effort to accurately describe the cottage, its facilities and the contents of the welcome pack. We have a rolling programme of maintenance and improvements to the cottage; while we endeavour to keep the pictures on our website up to date, it is possible that there will some differences between the pictures shown on the website and the cottage as you find it (hopefully in a good way). From time to time it may be necessary to make substitutions to the contents of the welcome pack, but these would always be with another item of equal or greater value
Contract
A contract governed by UK law for a short term holiday rental shall be deemed to be entered into between the client and S&C Elkins T/A Lazy Dog Cottage on receipt of the deposit. The contract will be subject to the Terms and Conditions
